Along with limestone, serpentinite has been found in vast quantities in Kochi Prefecture and was used as a crucial sub-material in the blast furnace steel-making process. Since the latter half of 1955, our company has mined over 36 million tons of high-quality serpentinite and supplied to major blast furnace steel manufacturers for over 50 years.
The Industrial Minerals Department comprises three sections: Industrial Minerals section , Recycled Resources section, and GX (Green Transformation) Planning section. By leveraging our stengths in mining development, mineral supply, and decarbonization technologies utilizing minerals, we strive to build a sustainable society that achieves both environmental conservation and economic growth.

The Industrial Minerals Section develops and supplies diverse industrial minerals and ores for steelmaking and various industries, both within Japan and internationally. Drawing on over a century of mining experience, we aspire to be a market leader in magnesium-based additives for steelmaking.
The Recycled Resources Section manages recycling of waste concrete and asphalt, as well as the recycling and intermediate processing of construction-generated soil and construction sludge.
Additionally, the section carries out the demolition and removal of facilities with difficult-to-dispose waste such as asbestos and dioxins.
The GX Planning Section is responsible for advancing the development of technologies aimed at promoting decarbonization and the transition from fossil fuels to renewable clean energies. The section is currently working on the development of decarbonization technologies utilizing properties of serpentinite, as well as carrying out solar power generation business using old mining sites.
